Yes its small.. but i like small cakes ^^

For the whole past 1 week (which includes pre-CNY, CNY & post CNY), the most happening thing has no watsoever relation to CNY. It was tat 惊魂 Saturday morning, 24 January... Its a BIG matter to every1 at my block, it even made it on the local newspaper the next day (not the headlines though), BUT I till now still duno who's the idiot culprit.

It took me at least 2 days to get over the uncomfortable feelings. How annoying...

Imagine sleeping in a deep slumber than suddenly u hear someone shouting "着火了! 快逃!"....

It was immediate awakening for me. I was too shock to even ask wat the hell is happening. Seriously i now know my HP is SO IMPORTANT to me. More impt than anything else i posses. Coz after dashing out the hse, I instinctively went back into the hse again 2 grab my HP.

Yes it was the HP. Only the HP. I also duno y i didnt even thought of grabbing my wallet or hse keys. Hmmmm...

The real freaky thing happened when suddenly the power suddenly shutdown & all the staircase & corridors turn into plain darkness. Everyone's reactions in such dark & smoky environment? Very very very frighten screams & shouts for that 1 min when the lights suddenly went out....

Ermm i din had time to scream coz i was engross in closing & locking my hse (at tat pt & moment, i still can tink properly must lock hse in case of thief. Haha). Come to tink of it, why was i the 1 staying behind to lock the hse? I only recall my mum waiting for me at the staircase. Where are the men??!!

Much luck was upon my family.

1st, the fire happened on the 3rd floor so my hse is way far far away frm it.

2nd, one of the 2 staircase exits tat wasnt blocked by the fire, 1 was beside my hse.

3rd, the burning area happened on the 3rd floor below my next door neighbour so only the staircase & walls directly above it were toasted black (yea the flames & smoke went all the way up to the 10th floor).

4th, my parents were actually preparing to go out when the fire started so they were 1 of the few 1st batch of ppl to notice the fire. Very lucky i must say.

5th, our family car happened to be parked at another carpark the night before coz the lots at my block were full. So while most ppl are stuck at the scene, with no shoes / still wearing pajamas / no money or valuables / no teeth (the elder peps) / messy hair.. we could drive off to elsewhere to have breakfast.

So the whole matter taught me many things:

1. Its a better choice to wear t-shirt & shorts to sleep (my usual habit!). At least u dun have to worry looking awkward wearing ur pajamas while running for ur life.

2. Always have ur valuables kept near to ur bed (so can find & grab easily while running away)

3. Dont put big objects near any exit path! Irregardless its inside or outside ur hse, especially the corridors & staircases. Having a cleared pathway to run for ur life is VERY IMPORTANT. Never block urs & ppl's escape path.

The whole stupid fire started coz 2 selfish neighbours put lots of furnitures at the corridors. 1 of the family's furniture started the fire & it spread to the other family's "trash" and the whole fire expand within secs. Lucky my block is spread into 3 sections with 4 staircase spread out far frm each other so everyone could escape safely. Else if the burning staircase is the only exit.... its unimaginable.

This experience is gona be life-time UNFORGETABLE.

A very blazing "旺旺" Chinese New Year.... Huat Ar!

Bro very 赏脸 and finished the whole bottle within 2 days.. i barely ate more than 10pcs lor! Suddenly feeling super lazy to try more new flavors.. the lazy bug has set in once again... The week be4 CNY is sooooo gona be a busy week...

The convenient of the nearby mega mall is also making me more lazy to travel to town. Har....

Went to tried two new cafes @ the new JP extension recently.

Lai Lai Beef Noodle:

I love it... totally love it... must be the best beef noodle i've eaten so far... I tink i can have it everyday, if it aint tat pricy... It was ard $14 for a cup of bubble tea +1 bowl beef noodle + 1 big plate side dish (choice of fried chicken chuncks, fried tofu, etc). Very fulfilling actually.. or rather overly too much food for a normal eater like me :p

Of coz the price matched the quantity... Have it as a once a day treat is gd ^^

The cream sauce pasta wasnt tat bad.. at least the ham wasnt too salty. Its plain enuf to make me like it ^^

The mushroom chicken sandwhich is nice! As expected, cafes usually serve tastier sandwhiches & desserts than compared to other dishes...

I must say the atmosphere is reali nice & comfy... Though the music was extreme loud but i dun find it noisy coz at least i cant hear any noise frm the patrons inside Bakerzin. PLUS the conversation between me & HJ is absolutely clear despite the loud music. I jus found another great place to chit chat with frienz w/o worryin the next table peps eavesdropping!

Must try their desserts next time... some look very alluring...

My xmas high tea with the poly babes... Yea its kinda early for the celebration but since we're meeting... might as well jus celebrate it. Its my 2nd visit to Marriot's high tea buffet. Apparently the 2nd impression is much better than the 1st (which was nearly 2yrs ago). There's more variety of food this round. Food tasted much more better. Much more pastries & desserts. And no crowds! Ok the crowd thingy might be becoz we went there on a weekday :p

Like the presents very much. Thx babes! (i was still tinkin tis yr i might not get any presents coz no one called for a xmas celebration but who knows? I got 4 pretty presents tis yr ^^)

CNY cookies 'test drive' ......

I needed the change... every yr baking the same cornflakes cookies has bored me. Bought tis wonderful cookies baking book... Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the receipes! Tried 3 of the cookies receipes, oats, cashew, almond. Totally delicious, if i do say so myself + parents. Especially like the cashew ones... I'm not a 'nut' person, seriously. But tis 1 i made is nice, coz its not too sweet ^^

Am trying another one (almond biscuits). Gotten all the ingrediants but i jus lose the 'drive' again. Maybe i'll do it tmr.. if the mood comes again. Hmmm....

Still pondering should i bake my cornflakes cookies, as usual. Lazy to bake so many kinds but i sorta miss my cornflakes cookies. Its a once a yr thingy lor. 2 weeks to decide.... *dilemma*

1st bday dinner @ Pasta Cafe...

Ok its overly early... coz 2008 havent end & some1 is eagar to treat me 2009 bday dinner. Still... thx MW! Her treat is coz she's afraid we wont mit any time soon. She's a busy new wife...

2nd time dining @ Pasta Cafe. I cant reali rmb who i ate with the 1st time or wat i had. Its doggie yrs ago... Anywayz the pasta was nice. So is the calamari (though i still likes the ones frm Fish & Co.). Comparing the pasta to tat of Sketches (@ Bugis), tis ones r more richer & bigger portion. But i prefer Sketches since i get to make my own pasta ^^
