:: 2 in a row ::

1st time watched 2 movies jus a day apart. CNY is really getting bored lor. Nowadays hardly go visiting coz its bored staring at the elders chat and i jus sit there watch their tv or munch their cny goodies. So decided to watch 2 movies to kill the boredem. 1st watched was Kung Fu Dunk on Thur.

Leaving aside the fact i'm watching this movie because there is Jay Chou, who's my fav singer (not much of fav actor, yet), I seriously like the movie as a whole. Plus also among all sports, i only understands basketball the most, watch basketball tournaments the most, and its the only sports i dun hate playing. Haha...

Many ppl commented its a copy of Slam Dunk, but i dun reali c any similarity in the story line lor. Both r basketball related of coz there r similar dunking moves. I mean how many diff styles can a little orange ball be dunk?

Though the story circles ard Jay mostly, i tink the other actors did their role very well. Eric Tsang as the shrewd businessman really got tat 欠扁脸. Charlene Choi though not much scenes, fits into character well enuf to be understood. Well i guess she is jus the 'flower' in the movie. Cannot all men mah. Haha.. The other two main characters, Chen Bo Ling & Baron Chen, lacks a life story, though their acting skills aint tat bad. The script-writer could have give more justice to all the other characters. Other than Jay with a full storyline of how he grew up, the rest jus started, w/o a 'beginning'. How Eric Tsang became a shrewd? What caused Chen Bo Ling to be so down? Why the hell got a scene (with no lines) of Baron Chen losing his lover when nothin was mentioned in the beginning? How Charlene fell in love with Baron? The movie would have a better review by the movie critics if its storyline is more full.

Have to give a round of applause to all the actors who did the amazing dunking moves thru-out the show. Bascially i take this movie more of a comedy coz I practically laughed through-out. Seriously i've never seen Jay been so funny lor. Not to forget the reali cool Kung Fu moves too! So throwing the fact tat too much focus is on Jay (which i seriously dun mind. haha), i tink all the actors worked well together, making the whole movie good enuf to be one of my fav movies. And i liked Kung Fu Dunk more, after watch CJ7....

Watched CJ7 on Fri. The movie started not bad. Heartwarming and funny. Than starting frm mid of the show to ending, its like fast forwarding the whole movie. In other words... lots of missing links. Though both Dunk & CJ7 have many missing links, personally i tink, Dunk's missing links are jus the beginning explanation of each character so even dun have i can still live with it, but CJ7 missing links are mainly the ending, so w/o them the show turns out weird.

How 七仔 returns after it was thrown into the rubbish truck? Why the teacher was crying at the doorstep but when Chow returns, nothin was mentioned wat happened to the teacher later. Why no scenes of how Chow revives frm death at the hospital? Before i could even think of wat is happening, the movie ended with the little ailen dead, than Chow & son continued to live as per norm. It reali got me thinkin, if this show is abt living with dignity even if u are poor, than wats the purpose of the little ailen tat can only perform 2 magic stunts before switching to 'sleep' mode? Moreover, the 2 stunts performed r kinda norm. If i'm the director, i'll jus omit the ailen and give the human characters more scenes & lines.

Personally, i tink CJ7 would be a good show if its more than 100mins long & not jus 88mins. The heartwarmin parts didnt reali touch me tat much coz its onli focusing on one pt: Live with dignity even if u are poor. But the thing is, the boy (or rather the little gal actress), didnt really misbehave becoz he is poor le, except change the exam score frm 0 to 100 or fighting with the bullies. Cant seems to link the misbehave parts to the "live with dignity" part.

I got bored ard mid to end of the movie. Kinda disappointed tat the movie doesnt have much story. Among all Chow's movie, tis one reali boreds me. Nevertheless, the little actress performs truly well. So funny whenever she acts silly.

So in my own pt of view, Dunk's director takes a switch frm filming artistic film to kung fu film and results not bad. CJ7 director takes a switch frm filming super comedy to heartwarmin film and results norm. I believe anyone who likes Jay or basketball, would totally luv Kung Fu Dunk. Anyone who like cute ailen film tat's heartwarming, will like CJ7. For me, its the prior ^_^
